Vimperator and Gmail

For a while now I’ve been tired of hitting ctrl-z every time I go to gmail to put vimperator into pass-through mode, and finally decided to see if anyone else had figured out a better way.  I found it. http://jonsblogat.blogspot.com/2009/06/vimperator-tips-ubiquity.html talks about using vimperator and gmail together in a great way, but the link to feedSomeKeys_2.js is no longer valid.  I used http://coderepos.org/share/browser/lang/javascript/vimperator-plugins/trunk/feedSomeKeys_2.js?format=txt instead and the rest of the instructions apply.
I simply copied the file reference above to my ~/.vimperator/plugin directory and then added the following to my ~/.vimperartorrc (borrowed from http://jonsblogat.blogspot.com):

" feedSomeKeys_2.js
autocmd LocationChange .* fmapc
" Gmail
autocmd LocationChange mail\.google\.com/(mail|a)/ :fmap -d 4 c / j k n p o u e x s r a # [ ] z ? gi gs gt gd ga gc

"Google Reader
autocmd LocationChange www\.google\.(co\.jp|com)/reader :fmap! -v i j k n p m s v A r S N P X O gh ga gs gt gu u / ? t

"Google Calendar
autocmd LocationChange ^https?://www\.google\.com/calendar fmap! -vkey -event keydown j k T,t a D,d w m x c e z / + q s ?

  1. I was wondering if that still works as of March 2012.. I followed the instructions, even made the script executable and I get an error message when firefox starts up..

    • I don’t use vimperator anymore, so I’m not sure. Good luck with it, though!
